The West Bengal University of Health Sciences (WBUHS) has been set up by an Act of the West Bengal Legislative Assembly in the year 2003 for better management of the health and medical education related courses which were so far taught separately by the University of Calcutta, and the Universities of Burdwan and North Bengal. Admission to Postgraduate seats in the Command Hospital, Kolkata-700027, is open to students selected by DGAFMS through Combined Admission Test conducted by DGAFMS. Admission to a certain number of Postgraduate seats in the Command Hospital, Kolkata as specified by DGAFMS, shall be made through WBPGMAT.
The allocation of seats in Postgraduate degree and PG diploma courses for 2018-19 academic sessions in various medical institutions/medical colleges under the ambit of the University shall be undertaken through counseling based on inter-se merit list published.
